We are pleased you have elected to have
your surgical procedure performed at Orthopaedic ASC
of Springfield, and are confident you will have the
best surgical experience possible.
Your physician will discuss your surgery
with you during your office visit, and your surgical
appointment will be scheduled at that time. Be sure
to tell your doctor about any existing medical conditions
and any medications that you are currently taking. |
|
After your surgery is scheduled, you may either visit the surgery center for
a pre-admission assessment or you will receive a phone
call from a member of our nursing staff to obtain a
basic health history and review your preoperative instructions.
We will arrange for any diagnostic tests that your doctor
may have ordered to be completed. Our nurse will inform
you of the time you are to arrive at the Center on the
day of your surgery.
At your pre-admission visit you will be able to talk
with a member of our business office staff regarding
your insurance coverage and your portion of the bill.
They will discuss the fee for your surgery, as well
as your co-payment, co-insurance, or deductible with
you.
Before surgery, you should follow these important safety
rules. If you do not follow these guidelines your operation
may have to be delayed or cancelled.
|
Failure to follow these instructions can cause serious
complications.
|

If you have any questions or concerns
regarding your care, please discuss them with the nurse
who calls for your pre-operative interview or call 417-447-3910.
Make arrangements for a responsible adult
to accompany you in order to receive instructions about
your care and to drive you home from the Center after
your surgery. If a responsible adult is not available,
your surgery will be cancelled.
Arrive promptly at the scheduled time.
This will allow adequate time for all necessary admission
procedures.
Please remember that surgery times are
hard to predict and may take longer than anticipated.
If this occurs we ask that you be prepared for this
possible delay.
|

Do not eat or drink anything after
midnight; unless instructed otherwise by the nurse, the
day before your procedure. This includes water, gum, mints,
and tobacco.
Bath or shower with antibacterial soap
the night before or the morning of your procedure.
Do not take any medications after midnight,
unless specifically ordered by your doctor or anesthesiologist.
You will need someone to stay with you
for 24 hours following surgery.

contacts, and dentures before surgery. |
 |
 |
On arrival you will be escorted
